Our OPST Micro Skagit D² is a little different than the 3 tip kit offered direct from OPST and other shops. 

We've replaced the 8FT Full Sink with a 7.5FT SHS 55 Grain Full Floating Tip for the most versatile 3 tip kit.

Micro Skagit D² (Dual Density) Tips (sink/float) are built with the OPST 3WT-5WT Micro Skagit series, 5wt and up single-hand rods, and Trout Spey Rods in mind.

One is 6ft sink/2ft float, and the final one is half and half 4ft sink/4ft float, to cover most on-the-water needs. These tips will give you a different angle of attack in the water than our density-compensated tip options and are a Must Have tool for the toolbox on the water.

Micro Skagit D² (Dual Density) Tips (sink/float) are built with the OPST 3WT-5WT Micro Skagit series, 5wt and up single-hand rods, and Trout Spey Rods in mind.  When Ed Ward talks, one should listen, and we did.  Being one of the original creators of the MOW tip, he saw a need for a lighter, dual-density option for customers chasing trout, bass, and other smaller species, and we met that need!  The specs will be 8 feet long. One is 8ft full sink, one is 6ft sink/2ft float, and the final one is half and half 4ft sink/4ft float, to cover most on-the-water needs. These tips will give you a different angle of attack in the water than our density-compensated tip options and are a Must Have tool for the toolbox on the water.

STEELHEAD AND SALMON FLOATING TIPS

We're known for Skagit, but what some people don't know is that if you harness the power of a Skagit head, and finish it with a tapered, floating tip, you get something very similar to a Scandinavian head. Laser-sharp loops and delicate presentations are now possible with a Commando Head, with our new floating Commando Tips. 

For skating flies to aggressive summer steelhead, to chugging poppers for silver salmon to nymphing, these strong, tapered tips are a vital component of a complete fishing kit. Designed for single hand rods all the way up to full-length spey rods, they will work on rods at least as long as 14 feet. Our SHS Commando Floating Tips come with a welded loop at both ends, as well as a line ID on the rear end.
